About Me

Hi.  I'm Alli.

Food has always been a big part of my life. My first job was at age 14, working at my parents' bakery. After spending my high school years elbow-deep in puff pastry and cinnamon-sugar, I went to college and worked as a barista/burger-flipper/sandwich-assembler. After graduating, I re-discovered the joy of baking, and it has been my hobby/obsession ever since.

I'm  as "amateur" as food bloggers come.  I have no professional training, no counterspace, no Kitchen Aid mixer and (sadly) no ice cream maker.  However, I do have a love for food and a lot of "stick-to-itiveness".  I still have a lot of fears (yeast) and techniques (beating egg whites to stiff peaks) to conquer, but stick with me, and we'll learn together.

Oh, yeah - I have a husband, and he's a pretty cool guy. He's my go-to taste tester and dish washer.  We have a goldfish named Fred, but he's pretty lazy. All he does is swim around.
